-
When can I visit my horse?
There will be regular yard visits organised by Belt and Braces Racing, along with mutually agreed visits booked through Ben as he is the go between for members and the trainer.
-
Do I receive owner's badges when my horse runs?
Dependant on the share you buy depends on if you are automatically entitled to a badge, some racecourses have a larger number of tickets for syndicates than others. 10% and above will guarantee a ticket, any remaining tickets will be distributed by Ben. People that haven’t been racing yet will get first refusal of these to ensure it is as fair as possible. Records of who has been racing will be kept track of to ensure we get this right for members.
-
Am I entitled to a share of any winning prize money?
Yes! Once all the commissions have been taken off such as, Jockey, Trainer & Pool Money then you will recieve your percentage share. Any unsold share value will be retained by Belt and Braces to cover the cost of the unsold shares.
-
Who decides where and when my horse will run?
From our experience the career path of the horse is always best left to the professionals. The trainer will decide where the horse shall be entered but if the trainer presents Ben with multiple options the decision will be given to the members in a poll format in the group chat.
-
What does the up-front payment pay for?
The upfront payment includes the purchase price of the horse, vetting at the sales, ‘GBB' bonus registration (if applicable), sales house commission (usually 5 - 7.5% of the auction price), agents commission (usually 2.5 - 5%), transportation to the trainer from the sales. We will not ask for an additional purchase price payment for any of the horses additional years, you just start a new contract with just the monthly payments if you wish to proceed.
-
Can I leave the syndicate at any time?
The syndicate runs for a 1 year period and you can leave at the end of that time. The other way you can leave is by selling your share but this must be done with the agreement of the Syndicator (Ben)

Are there any additional racing fees?
Race entries which cost over £100, and entries for races outside of the UK (all such entry costs including all forfeit stages,) plus transport for overseas races, are charged at cost price then pro-rata to your share – this then comes out of your share of the prize money that your horse wins. If, in the horse's lifetime it does not earn enough from prize money or sales proceeds to cover these entries, then any negative balance would not be charged to you.
